Who are KIKK?
We are a successful, friendly 11-aside women’s football team committed to fair play and good passing football.

What does KIKK mean?
It stands for “Kick In Kulan I Krysset”. That’s Swedish slang to score in the top corner! Or literally, to “kick the ball in the cross”.

So what’s the Swedish connection?
We were founded in 2004/2005 by two Swedes, Andrea Berg and Karin Revelj. The team is now a fine blend: the Scandinavians and British have been joined by Americans, Canadians, Spanish, Brazilians, Italians, French and a good few other nations!

Where do you play?
We like think think of ourselves as a central London team: we play our home games at a fantastic stadium facility, Mile End Stadium. Our players come from all over London – North, South, East and West.

Any silverware to speak of?
In
2011/12, we were champions of Division 1 in our second season in the London and South East Women’s Regional League. We won fifteen of our twenty league games and did it playing clean, passing football and averaging more than three goals a game. The year before, we were league runners-up; in 2009/2010 we were GLWFL Division 1 Champions (when the division was united rather than a north and south London version) and the season before that we were crowned winners of Division 2 North so that was three league championships in four years. Not bad going!

Looking to strengthen your squad?
Yep, we always welcome new players as it is a friendly set-up so if you’re a skilful, hard working player then there is no more enjoyable place to play football than with KIKK! If you’ve been reading our blog or you’ve seen us play or heard about us elsewhere and you like the sound of the team then email us at kikkunited@gmail.com.

Supporters?
Numerous (well a few anyway)! Fika, the extremely laidback and cool Swedish cafe bar on Brick Lane sponsor our kit and we go there for some of the team’s many socials. The Football Association’s historian, The Barber is a regular attendee at our games also.
